The benchmark micro-baffle down jacket from Rab returns. With a more efficient, weather-resistant design and improved sustainability credentials, the Rab Microlight provides lightweight and packable warmth as an everyday outer or for technical mountain layering.
The Pertex Quantum ripstop material now features a DWR finish, helping to shed water and protecting both you and the down for longer in wet conditions, whilst remaining highly packable. The recycled 700FP hydrophobic down maintains the warmth-to-weight ratio of previous generations whilst continuing to perform well in damp conditions, ideal for British weather or multi-day trips where drying opportunities are few and far between. To top it off, the Pertex outer and lining are now fully recycled in addition to the GRS-certified P.U.R.E recycled down.
It’s not just the materials that have changed. Using body-mapped baffle technology, Rab have strategically positioned micro and nano baffles throughout the jacket. This intelligently distributes the down, trapping warmth around the core of the body and keeping high heat areas, such as under the arms, cooler and less bulky for increased mobility, without compromising flexibility or weight.
Rab have still kept this a practical and comfortable jacket despite its weight. The stiffened peak hood maintains maximum visibility, and the 3 zipped, harness-compatible pockets keep essentials within reach, even with a rucksack on. The now ubiquitous internal elasticated cuffs provide a plush seal against the elements, alongside the drawcord hem.
More efficient and practical than ever, the Rab Microlight Jacket is the definitive multi-purpose down jacket.

The Rab story began in 1981 in the attic of a small, terraced house in Sheffield where Rab Carrington made the first sleeping bag to bear his name. Hand-stitched and devised with his own ingenious eye, Rab's experience from years spent in the mountains was apparent in his designs, and soon there was popular demand from Rab's friends and the growing local climbing community. Now, decades later, those honest, hard-wearing designs can be found all over the world; wherever adventurous individuals face up to the elements. From Himalayan peaks to cold, crisp evenings around a camp fire. This began as the brand's story, but it also belongs to those who've loved and cared for each and every one of our products. Who've made them their companions on long trips and expeditions.
