The Grivel Helix Ice Axe is a great option for those who have designs on ski touring and Scottish winter mountaineering. With a B rated shaft it is a simple walking axe with a plastic cover over the head. This is removable but when used it provides a little extra insulation and glove protection which is ideal considering walking axes are mostly carried by the head. The axe also comes with a fitted leash which includes a point protector for safe and easy transportation.
